A vibrant new city district near the Grand Place in the heart of Turnhout

This project was carried out by ITB, a former affiliate of Cegelec, which was rebranded as Cegelec on January 1, 2025.

Living, shopping, and experiencing — it’s all possible at Turnova. In addition to around 250 residential units and about 40 shops, there is a new municipal academy, a four-star hotel, and an underground parking garage. Three squares with unique atmospheres enhance the city center. Together with the inviting cafés, restaurants, and terraces, Turnova brings a new dimension to the city center of Turnhout.

ITB was responsible for the electrical installations in the underground parking, the apartment tower, the atrium, and the common areas.

For the parking, ITB supplied and installed the HV installation (630 kVA), the emergency power system (1,000 kVA), the low-voltage meters for 47 apartments, the general areas, and the shops. ITB also handled the ALSB Parking, ALSB Emergency, ALSB common areas of apartments, ALSB Parking Vital, and supplied and installed 11 distribution boards for the parking and common areas, a mesh network lightning protection, the fire detection system using point detectors, ramp heating for the parking, and the lighting installation controlled via Dali/KNX.

For the parking operator Indigo, ITB provided the complete cabling for parking management, as well as the data network.

For the apartment tower, ITB supplied and installed the distribution boards, various power cables and secondary cabling, the lightning protection system, the fire detection system for both common areas and apartments, the access control system, as well as the videophone system and lighting installation for the common areas.
